Lisa graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in Broadcast Communications just before she had her first child in 1992. She was lucky enough to obtain an internship with the public affairs department for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she wrote and broadcast weekly stories about the Church to be broadcast on radio stations around the world. She still works for the Church in Public Affairs, currently as the Media Specialist in the greater San Diego area.
Skip ahead a few years and another child, now she is flying in a small Cessna above the Salt Lake Valley twice a day reporting traffic on 7 radio stations in the greater Salt Lake area with call names such as "Lisa in the Sky with Traffic" on an Oldies station, "Lisa Lane in the Plane" on a top 40's station and "Lisa Dillon" on several country stations. She worked a split shift which made it easy for her to also be a very involved MOM!
Following her husband, Brian, to San Diego for law school landed her a part time job with Jacor Communications reporting traffic from the ground at KUSI, a local San Diego television station. Needing to earn more money with Brian in law school she began to work for GEICO Insurance Company for the next 3 years where she settled serious injury claims with attorneys from around the US. Thus, began her work in the legal field although she would not work as a paralegal until much later.
In the interim she had 2 more children one of which was born early and prompted her to stay home full time until they were a bit older. Needing an outlet for her creativity she started her own photography business, Pink Petals Photography. This was an amazing experience learning digital photography and Photoshop as well as interacting with happy families and couples capturing memories that last a lifetime for 6 years in the San Jose Bay Area and then in North County San Diego.
After getting to know many of the attorneys at Brian's law firm in Encinitas, CA she was asked to join the PI (personal injury) team due to her experience working with serious injury cases at GEICO. This is where she learned her paralegal skills, under the supervision of Aran Wong, a partner at Coast Law Group for 4 years.
When Brian began thinking about starting his own law firm, Lisa was enthusiastic and helped with the launch of Coeptus Law, Inc. She has developed a sharp eye for how businesses get bloated with inefficiencies, cross-purposes and miscommunication — and how they can retool for a sleeker, smoother, strategically focused organization.
As a paralegal who has quickly built a successful career path, Lisa assists lawyers at Coeptus in updating and maintaining corporate records, preparing and reviewing legal documents and assisting on corporate matters and transactions.
